Sitewig processes information about you in order to provide your domains, email and hosting. You decide what happens to your personal data, and you can always ask to see, correct or delete it.

Two roles: your account and your visitors

Sitewig is the controller for your account and the processor for your visitors' data
Who is responsible for which data
  • Data about you as a customer: name, email, address, invoices and sign-in. Here Sitewig is the controller. We describe this in the privacy policy.
  • Data about your visitors and customers: e.g. contact forms, orders, bookings and emails in your mailboxes. Here you are the controller and Sitewig is the processor. We describe this in the data processing agreement, and our sub-processors are listed on the sub-processors page.

Correct your details yourself

You can do a lot yourself in the control panel:

InformationWhere
Name, address, CVR, phone and email on invoicesSettings → Domain owner and customer details
VAT numberSettings → VAT number (CVR/VAT)
Sign-in email and recovery emailSettings → Sign-in and security
Who has access to the accountGuest users

Ask for access, a copy or deletion

There is not yet a button in the control panel for downloading all your data at once. Instead, you write to us:

  1. Step 1: Write to us

Send an email to the privacy address given in section 1 of the privacy policy. Write from the email you sign in with, so we can see that it's you.

  2. Step 2: Tell us what you want

Say whether you want access, a copy of your data in a common format (data portability), correction, deletion or restriction, or whether you object to a particular processing activity.

  3. Step 3: Get a reply within 1 month

We reply within 1 month. If we need to confirm your identity, we'll ask for that first.

Complain if you're not satisfied

You're welcome to contact us first. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country; in Denmark, that is Datatilsynet. See all the options in the section on complaints in the privacy policy.

When you process data about others

If you have a website, an online shop or booking with Sitewig, you are the controller for your visitors' information. Among other things, this means:

  • You must have a privacy policy on your website.
  • The data processing agreement describes how Sitewig processes your visitors' data on your behalf. It applies together with the terms and conditions when you use our services.
  • If one of your customers asks for access or deletion, it's you who replies. You'll find the information in e.g. the online shop's orders, the booking overview or your mailboxes.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sitewig sell my information?

No. We use it to provide our services and for the purposes described in the privacy policy.

How long do you keep my information?

It depends on the type. Account information is kept for as long as the account exists and for a period afterwards, while invoices are kept for up to 10 years. See the table in section 2 of the privacy policy.
