Sitewig adds VAT in every country except the United Kingdom. Private customers in Norway pay 25% Norwegian VAT (the VOEC scheme) on top of the list price. We are not VAT-registered in the United Kingdom at present, so customers there pay the list price without VAT.
What does this mean for me in Norway?
- The price: the pricing page shows the price incl. 25% VAT in Norwegian kroner. If you choose Show prices excl. VAT (business), you see the price without VAT.
- The order and the invoice: the VAT is shown as a separate line (25%).
Businesses in Norway
If your Norwegian business has a VAT-registered organisation number, you can enter it in the VAT number field when you choose Max at checkout. The number is checked in the Brønnøysund Register Centre. With a valid number you pay no VAT, and the invoice states the reverse charge.
What does this mean for me in the United Kingdom?
- The price: the price you see on the pricing page in pounds is the price you pay.
- The order: the order summary says No VAT charged.
- The invoice: the invoice shows 0 VAT with an explanation of why no VAT has been charged.
Businesses in the United Kingdom
UK VAT numbers are only checked for whether the format is correct. You get the answer Valid format, not verified. It does not affect the price; no UK VAT is added at present.
Special rules for consumers in Norway

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay VAT on my purchase myself?
As a private individual in Norway, you pay the VAT to us together with the price; in the United Kingdom there is no VAT. As a business, it depends on the rules in your country: ask your accountant if you are in any doubt.
Do I also get the 3 free months in the United Kingdom and Norway?
Yes. The first 3 months are free on all paid plans. Domains are paid in full when you order.
