From Starter · €3.06/moSee pricing

What you get

  • One PHP version for your hosting

Choose from the supported PHP versions, and the choice applies to every website on your web hosting, so they all run on the same, up-to-date base.

  • MariaDB databases

Create a database in a couple of clicks. The database and user share a name, and we generate a strong password for you to put in, say, wp-config.php.

  • Database tool in your browser

View tables, run queries and import or export data in a browser-based tool, without installing anything on your computer.

How to get started

  1. Choose a PHP version

Open PHP in the control panel, pick the version and save. Check your websites afterwards, as the version applies to all of them.

  2. Create a database

Open Databases and press Create database. Save the password straight away, as it is only shown this once.

  3. Connect your website

Use the connection details in your app. If you forget the password, create a new one from the same page.

Good to know

Databases are closed to the outside

Databases can only be reached from your websites on the server and from the database tool, not from the internet. That protects your data from attacks. Website, databases and email share your plan's storage, and how many databases you can create depends on your plan.

Questions and answers

Can I choose a PHP version per website?

No. The version applies to the whole web hosting. If one website needs a different version from the rest, put it on its own web hosting.

Why keep PHP up to date?

Newer PHP versions are faster and get security fixes. Older versions stop getting fixes, and new plugins eventually require a newer version.

Can I move an existing database here?

Yes. Export the database at your old host, create a new database here and import the file with the database tool.
