What you get
Every night, fully automatic
Nothing to remember. The backup runs every night for your whole web hosting, and the first one is taken on your very first night as a customer.
Files, databases and websites
Backups cover the files on your web hosting, your databases and the websites you made in the website builder. They are stored encrypted, separately from the website itself.
Restore yourself, even single files
Pick the day you want to go back to and restore the whole web hosting, a database or just the files you are missing. You can also download a copy to your own computer.
How to get started
Open Backup
Log in to the control panel and open Backup. The Web hosting, Database and Website tabs each list their backups with time and content.
Choose a day
Find a backup from before the problem started. Automatic backups are marked as nightly, and the ones you ordered yourself as manual.
Restore
Restore everything or only what you need. Restoring overwrites the current content, so check your website afterwards.
Good to know
When a backup gets too old
Backups older than 30 days, or 90 days on the largest plan, are deleted automatically and cannot be recovered. The free plan has no backups. On the largest plans you can also take an extra backup right away, for example just before a big update.

Questions and answers
Does restoring cost extra?
No. Nightly backups and restoring from the control panel are included in the price of every paid hosting plan.
What is backed up?
The files on your web hosting, your databases and websites from the website builder. The builder also saves a new version every time you make a change, so small mistakes can often be undone there.
Can I get a backup older than 30 days?
Only on the largest hosting plan, where backups are kept for 90 days. To keep your own copy for longer, download the files over SFTP and export the database.
Can I take a backup right now?
Yes, on the largest plans with the Back up now button. On the other plans you use last night's backup, which is never more than a day old.
