1. Sitewig's role
1.1 Sitewig arranges registration, renewal, transfer and management of domain names as a reseller for the accredited registrar Openprovider (Hosting Concepts B.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands).
1.2 The domain is registered in your name as registrant. You hold the right of use as long as the domain is paid for and renewed; you do not acquire ownership. Registration is first come, first served, and we cannot guarantee a domain until registration is confirmed.
2. Registry rules apply
By registering a domain you accept the rules in force from time to time of the registry for that extension and – for generic extensions – ICANN's rules. In case of conflict the registry's rules prevail.
| Extension | Registry | Key rules |
|---|---|---|
| .dk | Punktum dk A/S | Terms and conditions for the right of use of a .dk domain name (version 15). You contract directly with Punktum dk; Sitewig/Openprovider manages the domain as registrar. Registration and renewal are for 1 year at a time. You must complete Punktum dk's identity verification within the deadline, otherwise the domain is suspended and deleted. You may change registrar freely and terminate the domain directly with Punktum dk. Disputes: Klagenævnet for Domænenavne (domaeneklager.dk) |
| .eu | EURid | .eu rules. Only for EU/EEA citizens, EU/EEA residents and undertakings established in the EU/EEA. Disputes: ADR at the Czech Arbitration Court |
| .com / .net and other gTLDs | Verisign and others (ICANN) | ICANN Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities, registrant information, Transfer Policy and UDRP (icann.org/udrp). .app and .dev require HTTPS |
| .uk / .co.uk | Nominet | Nominet terms and Nominet DRS |
| .de | DENIC | DENIC terms |
| .fr | AFNIC | Naming charter; registrant must be resident/established in the EU/EEA or Switzerland. Disputes: Syreli/PARL |
| .se / .nu | Internetstiftelsen | Registration terms; alternative dispute resolution |
| .no | Norid | .no domain name policy; only organisations in the Central Coordinating Register and certain individuals with a Norwegian ID |
Sponsoring registrar for gTLDs: Hosting Concepts B.V. (Openprovider). Sitewig is not itself ICANN-accredited.
3. Your data and verification
3.1 You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date registrant data (name, address, email, phone and, where the registry requires it, company, organisation or VAT number) and keep it updated.
3.2 We, the registrar and the registry verify the data under Art. 28 NIS2 and registry rules, e.g. by email, phone or identity checks. When verification is required, we tell you by email which details must be confirmed and how. Questions: kontakt@sitewig.com.
3.3 Inaccurate or unverified data may lead to suspension or deletion of the domain.
3.4 Registrant data may be published in WHOIS/RDAP under registry rules. For natural persons, data is normally not published for generic extensions. Registries and the registrar are independent controllers of this data. Legitimate access requests for registration data are answered within 72 hours.
4. Price, renewal and expiry
4.1 Domains are paid in advance for the whole registration period and are not part of introductory offers. Prices for registration, renewal, transfer, post-expiry renewal and redemption are shown at sitewig.com/domaener/priser and in the order flow. Prices follow the cost price at our registrar Openprovider and may therefore change. The renewal price may differ from the registration price, and the amount charged on renewal is stated in the reminder before renewal (clause 4.2).
4.1.1 The registration period depends on the domain ending. Some endings require a minimum registration period of more than one year (e.g. .ai: 2 years); the price for the whole period is then shown and charged when you order.
4.2 Domains renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal. We send reminders about 30 days and 7 days before expiry and again within 5 days after expiry if the domain has not been renewed. Reminders go to your account email.
4.3 If a domain is not renewed it expires. The registry's rules on grace period, redemption (which may cost extra) and deletion then apply; many gTLDs have a 30-day redemption period. Once deleted, others may register the domain.
4.4 Domain fees are not refunded once registration is completed where you expressly requested immediate registration and acknowledged the resulting loss of the right of withdrawal (Terms of Service clause 5.3). Domains are not covered by the 30-day guarantee.
5. Transfers
5.1 You may transfer your domain to another provider under the registry's rules.
5.2 We provide the authorisation code (auth/EPP code) or complete the transfer within 5 days of request unless registry rules prevent it (e.g. a transfer lock after registration or change of registrant, or a pending dispute).
5.3 Unpaid amounts do not hold the domain beyond what registry rules permit.
5.4 If you transfer a domain to us together with a plan, the transfer is charged with the plan's first annual payment. If you transfer a domain to us without a plan, the transfer is paid when you order (Terms of Service clause 4.3.1).
6. Domain name disputes
6.1 You are responsible for ensuring the domain name does not infringe the rights of others.
6.2 Disputes about the right to a domain name are resolved under the registry's dispute procedure (see table). We comply with decisions of those bodies and of the courts.
7. Abuse and suspension
7.1 We, the registrar and the registry may suspend, lock or delete a domain for DNS abuse (phishing, malware, botnets, pharming and spam used to deliver these), inaccurate data, a court order or an order from an authority, or under registry rules.
7.2 We will inform you unless the law or the authority prohibits it. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. DNSSEC and name servers
We offer DNSSEC signing for domains using ns1/ns2.sitewig.com. If you use external name servers, you are responsible for DNS and DNSSEC.
