1. Purpose
These rules protect our customers, our network and the internet. They apply to all Sitewig services and to everyone using them through your account.
2. Illegal and harmful content – prohibited
You must not use the services to store, distribute or link to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). It is always reported to the police and the account is closed immediately.
- Terrorist content, including content covered by Regulation (EU) 2021/784.
- Phishing, fraud or impersonation of businesses, banks or authorities.
- Malware, botnet command-and-control servers, cryptojacking and exploit kits.
- Infringements of copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property rights.
- Illegal trade, e.g. in drugs, weapons, stolen data or counterfeit goods.
- Content that violates privacy (e.g. doxing or non-consensual intimate images), or is defamatory, threatening or incites violence.
- Other content that is illegal in the UK, in the country where the server is located, or in the country the content targets.
3. Email and spam
- You must not send unsolicited commercial email. Consent rules such as section 10 of the Danish Marketing Practices Act, PECR (UK) and § 7 UWG (DE) must be followed.
- Newsletters and bulk mailings must not be sent through our shared mail servers. Use a dedicated newsletter provider.
- Indicative limits: at most [[200]] recipients per hour and [[1,000]] per day per mailbox. Limits may be adjusted to protect IP reputation.
- You must have valid SPF, DKIM and DMARC when using your own domain and must not forge sender information.
- Mailboxes must not be used for address harvesting or as open relays.
4. Network and security
It is prohibited to:
- attack, scan or test other systems without permission, including DDoS and brute force;
- attempt to access other customers' data or circumvent isolation, quotas and security measures;
- run open proxies, open DNS resolvers, Tor exit nodes or similar without written agreement;
- forge IP addresses, DNS responses or email headers.
5. Fair use of "unlimited" resources
"Unlimited" means we set no fixed number. Use must still correspond to normal shared-hosting use by an individual or a small or medium-sized business:
- Storage may only be used for the website and email – not for archiving, backups of other systems, file sharing or media distributed at scale.
- CPU, RAM and processes must not degrade service for others over extended periods. Indicative limits per account: [[2 vCPU / 2 GB RAM / 100 concurrent processes]]; exact limits are shown in the control panel.
- Databases: at most [[5 GB]] per database and no long-running queries over [[60 s]].
- Inodes/files: indicatively at most [[500,000]] per account.
- No cryptomining, large-scale video streaming, game servers or heavy 24/7 background jobs.
If use exceeds fair use we will contact you and give at least 7 days to adjust or change plan. Where other customers are acutely affected we may restrict resources temporarily with immediate effect.
6. Domains and DNS
- You must provide correct registrant data (see the Domain Registration Terms).
- Domains and DNS must not be used for phishing, malware, botnets, pharming or spam used to deliver these (DNS abuse under ICANN and registry rules).
7. Enforcement (DSA)

7.3 You receive a statement of reasons under Art. 17 DSA, including your redress options. You may complain via dsa@sitewig.com.
7.4 We report suspicions of criminal offences involving a threat to life or safety to the authorities (Art. 18 DSA) and cooperate with authorities as required by law.
