How do I get started?

Do I need a domain before I start?
You can choose a new domain or keep your existing one. Domains are bought separately at the normal price.
Domains
Can I get my own domain?
Yes. Choose from every extension, also as an individual. Availability is checked when you order.
How do I transfer a domain?
Get a transfer code from your current provider. We help plan the move.
DNS
What is DNS?
DNS connects your domain to your website and email. A and CNAME records are used for the site, MX records for email.
Can I keep my domain elsewhere?
Yes. Point DNS to your Sitewig hosting.
Which email plans are there?
Essential (€2.49/mo) has 10 mailboxes of 10 GB. Unlimited (€4.49/mo) has unlimited mailboxes and 250 GB shared storage.
Do I get email on my domain?
All hosting plans include mailboxes. You can also choose a standalone email plan.
Web hosting
How do you back up?
Daily backups for 30 days that you can restore yourself. Max also has on-demand backups.
Where is my data stored?
Data centre details will be published before launch.
WordPress
Is WordPress included in every plan?
Yes. WordPress, PHP choice, SSH/SFTP, staging and free SSL are on every plan.
Which plan suits WordPress?
All of them. Pro and Max add automatic updates with rollback, malware scan and CDN.
Website builder
Do I need to code?
No. You edit pages, text and images without code.
Is the website builder included?
Yes, free with every hosting plan. Online shop and Booking come with Max only.
Billing
How do I pay?
The first 3 months cost €1. After that you pay for 12 months at a time at the normal price, incl. VAT.
Does the price go up after the first year?
No. The normal price is the same every year. Domains have their own first-year and renewal prices.
Security
Do I get an SSL certificate?
Free SSL is included in every hosting plan.
